After several years of
a struggling world economy, state and local government organizations
face significant challenges. Most organizations have to contend
with a backlog of projects, budget pressure, and a lack of
visibility into operations. And many are also dealing with
neglected operations, low employee morale, and taxpayer displeasure.
The innovative CorVu performance management solution helps
state and local government organizations track
goals and initiatives, increase accountability, and clearly
communicate services to constituents.
The City of Atlanta deployed CorVu in order to successfully
execute Mayor Shirley Franklin’s strategy of changing
the operating model of the city, making it more outcomes-oriented
and customer-centric. With 8,000 employees, 15 very different
lines of business, and a huge budget deficit, Mayor Franklin
sought to ensure that departmental operations are aligned
with the overall strategy of the City. Using CorVu, the City
developed The Atlanta Dashboard, which is the Mayor’s
central management tool for setting performance goals, tracking
progress against those goals, and holding managers accountable.
